Hiking & Trekking Tours
Camiguins nature offers a wide variety of trails and hikes. With the experienced guides from Balai sa Baibai you can enjoy 3 highlights which ambitious hikers should not miss.
OLD VULCANO 360°
Old Vulcano 360° will bring you all around the oldest Vulcano on Camiguin.
The half-day tour starts at the famous Sunken Cemetery. Your guide will lead you on an old trail up into the jungle. Sometimes you can see locals using water buffalos to bring their goods (coconuts, wood and bamboo) down to the markets. The majestic volcanoes Mt. Hibok-Hibok and Old Volcano will show you the way through the coconut forest and dense jungle.
On the peak you will arrive at the plateau, having an incredible view over the Bohol Sea. After some time to rest and enjoy your picnic we will start descending towards the ocean. The breathtaking view of White Island will accompany you on the last part of the hike, which leads us through local farming lots and ends on a road, where the driver will be waiting to bring you back to the resort.
MT. HIBOK HIBOK
Challenge yourself in the hardest trekking on Camiguin. Hike the island made of fire all the way up from 0 to 1332 meters above sea level. Mt. Hibok Hibok is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire – the last eruption was in 1953.
The first part of the climb is a hike through a huge coconut grove that covers an area of several hectares. After a while, the coconut trees become sparser and lush wild ferns flourish.
A short time later, we leave the farmland and enter the rainforest that covers the slopes of the Hibok Hibok volcano. At some points, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of White Island.
After a long climb, we enter one of the three craters of Hibok Hibok. The crater is covered with tall cogon grass and surrounded by huge trees that cover the cliff. After a break at the crater lake, we continue to the top.
The view from the very top is indescribable!
